Obey “E Pluribus Venom” portrays the artwork of Shepard Fairey’s exhibition at the Jonathan Levine gallery from Summer 2007. Known for his somewhat controversial and inspirational designs, Fairey questions the symbols and methods of the American machine and the American dream and celebrates those who oppose blind nationalism and war. The title “E Pluribus Venom”, which translates “out of many, poison” comes from “iE Pluribus Unumi”, or “out of many, one”. This is an early motto that was adopted by the US government which appears on US currency. A historical lesson in itself, the deep subject matter translates into a finely crafted hardcover book featuring 144 pages of powerful artistic propaganda. An absolute must-have for Shepard Fairey fans and art collectors alike.
